Questions about the widget

Is the snow widget free?

Yes. You can use it on any website, commercial or not. The only condition is that the link to Snow in Lapland under the widget stays in place.

Where does the snow data come from?

From the Finnish Meteorological Institute's daily snow depth measurements at the weather station nearest each destination, published as open data (CC BY 4.0). Stations can be a few kilometres from the resort, and slopes and fells often hold more snow.

Will it slow down my website?

No. The script loads asynchronously after your page, is about 5 KB, and draws the card in its own shadow root, so it can't clash with your styles.

Does it work in WordPress, Wix or Squarespace?

Yes. Paste the code into a Custom HTML block (WordPress), an Embed or HTML element (Wix, Squarespace) or straight into your page template.

My destination isn't in the list. Can you add it?
